Position: Ingredient Receiver Rail Operator FM02 - 1st shift - Aurora Feed Mill
Location: Aurora

Job Summary

This Rail Operator position is responsible for ensuring all materials are transported and/or unloaded in a timely manner, operating the computer to route ingredients, while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Key duties include:

Work in and be exposed to outside temperatures and environment.
May lift in excess of 80 lbs., heavy equipment, and climb stairs on a routine basis.
File both alphabetically and numerically.
Operate live haul scales and keep the feed area clean.
Communicate professionally both orally and in writing.
Maintain clean work and break area.
Compute grower weights and head count.
Train and operate a Rail Mover Operator.

Operate a locomotive/track mobile to move rail cars by following established procedures and/or specifications.

Coordinate activities such as switching cars from one track to another, coupling railcars together, and/or ensuring clearances.

Handle switches and hand brakes in accordance with company programs.

Walk the length of the track to monitor track conditions and report any irregularities to management.

Accurately record data.

Operate scales and document incoming ingredients through the ticketing system.

Unload feed ingredients and route them to the appropriate storage silo.

Obtain and run quality analysis on required incoming ingredients.

Lift and use hand tools to assist in unloading of ingredients.

Perform minor maintenance duties using hand tools.

Work in hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold environments. Heavy exposure to ingredient dust and inclement weather.

Work holidays, weekends, and flexible hours as required based on demand scheduling.

Work in elevated areas and follow all safety procedures.

Sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity Guidelines, including an agreement to avoid any avian species.

Maintain good housekeeping, including service areas.

Communicate to all levels of Operations including Customers and Vendors both orally and in writing where required.

Follow and operate within all Tyson Health and Safety protocols.

Lift up to 60 lbs. and/or up to 100 lbs. with assistance.

Stand, sit, walk, climb ladders/stairs with the ability to sustain physical activity throughout the day.

Complete all other tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications

Must have at least 6 months continuous work history with a single employer within the last 12 months.
Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Up to two previous Tyson employments may be considered with a 180‑day waiting period.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
Ability to stand, sit, walk, and climb ladders or stairs, sustaining physical activity throughout the day.
