This is a full‑time, on‑site Welder role based in Kansas City, MO. The Welder will fabricate, assemble, and repair stainless steel and other metal components for food processing equipment using various welding processes.
Daily responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, setting up welding equipment, fitting and aligning parts, and performing high‑quality welds that meet sanitary and structural standards. The role also involves inspecting finished welds for quality, performing basic grinding and finishing, and collaborating with fabricators, machinists, and project leads to complete jobs on schedule. The Welder will follow all safety protocols, maintain a clean and organized work area, and assist with equipment maintenance as needed.
Qualifications- Proficiency in core welding processes, including welding, MIG welding, TIG welding, and arc welding.
- Solid understanding of materials, especially metals commonly used in industrial and food processing equipment (e.g., stainless steel).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols.
- Experience with fabrication tasks such as measuring, cutting, fitting, and finishing metal components.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety procedures.
- Attention to detail, with the ability to produce clean, accurate, and consistent welds.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials and equipment as required, and work in a shop environment.
- Prior experience in industrial or equipment manufacturing welding; experience with food processing equipment is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification or vocational training in welding or metal fabrication is preferred.
- Reliable, team‑oriented work style with effective communication and time‑management skills.
