Electronics Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Location: Maryland Heights
Essential Job Functions
- Perform general troubleshooting for operations of cyclotrons and support equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs of cyclotrons and support equipment with minimal to no instructions.
- Perform special and advanced maintenance and repairs of cyclotrons and support equipment with general instructions.
- Perform scheduled start‑ups and shutdowns of cyclotrons.
- Perform target loading, installation, and transport activities.
- Operate and monitor cyclotrons and support systems during target irradiation.
- Monitor cyclotrons and support systems during standby conditions.
- Perform record keeping of cyclotron performance and operations data.
- Perform record keeping of maintenance and repair work performed.
- Work closely with Cyclotron Chemistry and production teams to support daily production activities.
- Maintain operational compliance with US and international regulatory agencies and guidelines, including FDA, EU, HC, TGA, PIC/S, ISO, USP, NRC, cGMP, and related standards.
- This is a 24/7/365 operation.
- Current schedule is 12‑hour shifts, 7 days on / 7 days off.
- Current rotation starts Tuesday and runs through Monday.
- Overtime pay applies as part of this schedule.
- Two‑year degree in Electronics from either a college or technical/vocational school, or equivalent electronics training from Armed Forces training schools preferred.
- Hands‑on electronics, electrical, mechatronics, automation, industrial maintenance, or electro‑mechanical troubleshooting experience required.
- Component‑level electronics troubleshooting and repair experience strongly preferred.
- Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing any of the following is highly preferred: solid state and vacuum tube based electronics, analog and digital circuits, logic circuits/PLCs, high‑power RF systems, high‑voltage DC power equipment, electro‑mechanical systems, and vacuum systems.
- Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, manufacturing equipment, automation systems, or industrial equipment maintenance preferred.
- Experience working around ionizing radiation sources is a plus but not required.
- Ability to perform large‑scale troubleshooting with system components spread across multiple areas.
- Ability to read schematics and identify basic electrical/electronic components preferred.
- Ability to perform circuit board repair, component replacement, basic soldering, or bench testing preferred.
- Ability to use a variety of general‑purpose test equipment and bench test electronic system components.
- Strong team orientation, reliability, documentation skills, and willingness to complete extensive OJT and compliance training.
