Job Description

Pay Rate: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

• Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable materials by applying appropriate welding techniques
• Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine the appropriate welding process
• Receives job duties from the production lead/supervisor
• Follows work procedures and tool and material requirements
• Selects and sets up welding equipment
• Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded
• Fabricates metal building and metal roofing components
• Uses a rod or wire and heat to join metals
• Uses a plasma torch, grinding wheel, band saw or other instrument for cutting metal
• Ensures welds meet standards and specifications
• Participates in other projects and responsibilities as directed by the company
• Performs additional jobs and duties as directed

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree
• 2 years’ experience in welding/fabricating
• Welding certification is preferred but not required
• Ability to work with precision and control where damage could be considerable
• Attention and care to prevent injury to self or others when performing work
• Ability to stoop, bend, and stand for long periods of time
• Agreement to wear protective equipment for exposure to glare, burn, and shrapnel
• Ability to work in adverse environments regarding temperature (hot/cold)
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Minimum age 18 years

This position has the potential for overtime. Shift lengths vary: 8, 10, or 12 hours depending on work orders and seasonal demand.
