Plant Managers are responsible for overall effectiveness of day‑to‑day manufacturing operations through direction of personnel in the management of safety, quality, customer service, and efficient utilization of resources, equipment, materials and manpower procedures and programs.
Responsibilities- Understands, follows and enforces all established safety, health, quality GMP and Company policies, procedures and recognized practices.
- Leads plant safety initiatives through safety training programs, meetings, audits, and employee involvement.
- Leads plant quality initiatives through corrective actions from complaints, new product qualifications, and quality system audits.
- Responsible for selection, training, growth and development of shift and staff personnel to attain organizational goals.
- Reviews operating statements for all departments and directs manufacturing operations to keep plant costs within budgetary standards.
- Develops and maintains sound relations with customers and works with them to identify system improvements and supply chain cost reductions.
- Ensures continuous improvement plans are developed and implemented to meet short and long‑range goals.
- Oversees production planning to ensure customer requirements are satisfied.
- Maintains contact with sales department and customer service to maximize utilization of plant facilities.
- Acts as the Plant’s Project Manager on new initiatives involving equipment and molds.
- Participates in monthly, quarterly and year‑end physical inventories per corporate guidelines.
- Oversees creation and implementation of plant’s strategic and tactical plans to achieve objectives.
- Drives continuous improvement plans using Operational Excellence tools across cross‑functional departments.
- Promotes an open‑door and team‑building environment policy.
- May be responsible for special projects related to other functional areas.
- 0–25% travel may be required.
A Bachelor’s Degree and/or related plant management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A minimum of five years’ experience in an operations supervisory or management role in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated leadership skills is strongly preferred. Six Sigma, Lean, and/or Kaizen experience preferred.
Requirements- Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
- Computer usage and typing skills are essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and provide exemplary customer service while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments within prescribed routines and standard practices.
- Communicates effectively: conveys facts and information clearly both verbally and orally.
- Collaborates well with others: proactively contributes to group objectives and volunteers to help others.
The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final agreed‑upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
