Job DescriptionMaintenance – Maint Tech/Electrician Combination.
Responsibilities- Maintain and repair operating equipment: removal, installation, rebuilding, lubrication, and cleaning.
- Work with plant operations to accomplish tasks in a timely and safe manner.
- Notify Maintenance Supervisors of production, maintenance, or safety issues.
- Perform basic instrument replacement and basic electrical work, including terminating electric motors.
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems and components: variable speed drives, motors, PLCs, power distribution equipment, and turbines.
- Perform pneumatic troubleshooting: calculate ranges and set points for switches, transmitters, indicators, recorders, and controllers.
- Install conduit, wiring, panels, controls, and other electrical components for machines and equipment.
- Install and maintain light fixtures and related equipment.
- Assist E&I technicians in troubleshooting electrical problems.
- Make necessary adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of equipment and attend training classes when available.
- Apply root‑cause analysis theory and corrective action steps for continuous improvement.
- Support plant management in improving production efficiencies with mechanical resources.
- Complete required safety training and comply with all safety policies.
- Follow department procedural policies and participate in team concept approaches.
- Notify supervisors and production management of product quality issues and shut down equipment if product quality is out of specification.
- Perform maintenance tasks to ensure compliance with quality and GMP requirements.
- Enter actual time and any parts or material used on the job into the ePac CMMS system.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks for equipment and facility in accordance with manufacturer and engineering guidelines.
- Coordinate all preventive maintenance activities with manufacturing, quality control, and management.
- Assist other maintenance employees as able and assigned.
- Assist in the completion of capital and maintenance projects as able and assigned.
- Look for opportunities to help work get done safer, faster, and more cost‑effective.
- Participate in company activities such as Safety Committee, Audit Committees, and employee task forces when requested.
- Apply experience with installation of piping systems, pipe fittings, and welding.
- Perform maintenance on equipment owned, leased, or operated by the company, including packaging machines, conveyors, palletizers, stretch wrappers, and sugar feed systems (screw conveyors, bucket elevators, drag conveyors, dense phase systems, airlocks).
- Work during shutdown periods to complete work orders.
- Use catwalks and/or ladders to clear choke‑ups on conveyors that cause the production line to stop.
- Work assigned overtime as needed.
- Perform any additional duties or tasks assigned by management.
- Experience in maintenance and electrical work within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of variable speed drives, motors, PLCs, pneumatic systems, and lighting installation.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with ePac CMMS or similar maintenance systems.
- Strong root‑cause analysis skills.
- Ability to work during shutdown and overtime periods.
- Good communication skills and teamwork orientation.
