Responsibilities

The COS Material Handler I position’s primary purpose is receiving, filling, and shipping products accurately and efficiently. Ensures all products are readily available to be filled and ensures necessary paperwork is completed. May be assigned all or some of the various warehouse job functions including but not limited to receiving, order fulfillment, product picking, wrapping and packing, stock replenishment, customer will call, and inventory cycle counts.

  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently to receive, move, store, stock, rotate, and replenish inventory.
  • Receive and unload shipments; inspect products for damage, verify quantities, resolve discrepancies, and complete required documentation.
  • Ensure products are properly labeled, barcoded, and stored in the correct locations.
  • Pick, pack, palletize, wrap, and load orders accurately while minimizing product damage and completing required paperwork.
  • Handle and document hazardous materials shipments in compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by following standard operating procedures, meeting productivity standards, and participating in cycle counts and inventory projects as assigned.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by following safety procedures, wearing required protective equipment, and reporting safety or equipment concerns.
  • Maintain required certifications, including forklift and hazardous materials certifications, as applicable.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with customers and coworkers.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education And/or Experience
  • Required:
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 0 – 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred:
    • Experience with a picker, forklift, RF scanner, and inventory management systems.
    • Knowledge of HVAC wholesale industry, principles, and practices.
    • Previous experience with OSHA and safety regulations and procedures.
Certificates, Licenses, And Registrations
  • Forklift certification required, or willingness to obtain on the job.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and maneuver products and equipment while adhering to safety guidelines.
  • Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and established processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work and maintain attention to detail.
