Solution Design Engineer

Logistics at full potential To support our growing business in the region, we are looking for a Solution Design professional to help develop efficient, effective, and customer-focused solutions for new business opportunities. You will join our regional Solution Design team and be based at one of our locations across Germany – Dormagen, Dorsten, Bremen, or Hammersbach. In this role, you will be responsible for designing effective and efficient solutions including automation and innovation concepts for potential customers in new or existing operations.

What you do on a typical day as a Solutions Engineer:

• Analyze and understand customer needs and requirements in their supply chain and translate them into suitable warehousing concepts
• Define processes, layouts, shift setups, automation capacities etc.
• Work with and visit top automation providers
• Create activity-based costing models including P&L analyses for the created solutions
• Work with various internal departments like Ops, IT, HR, Finance, Qesh, Sales and more
• Present your solution towards customers and create a collaborative and open working atmosphere to enhance the solution jointly
• Support during implementation processes for example by acting as the solution gatekeeper

What you need to succeed at GXO as a Solutions Engineer:

• Experience in solution design or/and financial analysis or controlling, gained within contract logistics or in-house logistics environments
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
• Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken
• Ability to translate financial and operational data into clear business insights and customer-focused solutions
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
• Willingness to travel
