Cold Heading Operator

SHOP – Cold Heading

Operate a cold header machine to run batches of high-strength bolts at a constant heated temperature of 1000 to 1100 degrees Celsius, creating a head on each bolt. Run through the three progressive stations to complete the end product. Preferred experience includes working with materials such as inconel, titanium, 8740, and 4340 and using National #89 or Okuma 2 dies with 3 blows.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic math and English reading skills
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and move 40 lbs pans with dollies
• Simple blueprint reading and use of precision measuring tools (comparators and gages) is a plus

Report to the Cold Heading supervisor

All day standing, repetitive manual motion, heavy physical work. Operates on a powerful cold header machine.

Willingness to learn and teach, attention to detail, ability to work in a group, memorize simple procedures for machining and checking. Bilingual preferred; good communication skills a plus.

Full-time, 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday. Overtime expected depending on production needs. Regular attendance is an essential job function.
