Starting Pay: $18.50 per hour
Shift Options: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM OR 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM Rotating schedule, off every other weekend
Position SummaryThe shop helper is responsible for reeling finished products, monitoring product quality, maintaining production records, and supporting manufacturing operations in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Assist with reeling finished products for shipment
- Tie off, band, test, tag, and stage completed reels in designated holding areas
- Help with production line changeovers, including changing half-moon supports and end plates
- Grind scrap materials safely and efficiently when required
- Quality control: verify product specifications using work order travelers (WOTs)
- Ensure product tape, color, size, print, and reel configurations meet customer requirements
- Perform on-line quality inspections throughout production
- Measure and verify wall thickness, outside diameter, length, and overall product appearance
- Identify and immediately report defects, quality concerns, or specification changes to supervisors
- Equipment & operations: make production adjustments as needed to maintain product quality standards
- Change print settings and verify print quality on finished products
- Follow all production procedures and work instructions
- Support production operations as assigned by supervisors
- Documentation: complete production paperwork accurately and on time
- Record product dimensions and production-related information
- Maintain accurate quality and production records
- Safety & housekeeping: follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area
- Support housekeeping initiatives and high workplace cleanliness standards
- Properly use equipment and materials in a safe manner at all times
Manufacturing or production experience preferred
Ability to work 12-hour shifts
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull production materials as needed
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Basic math and measurement skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
