AccountabilityReporting to the plant manager and any department supervisor or lead as duties are assigned daily. The Manufacturing Support Specialist is responsible for meeting all safety, quality, and productivity standards for the department they are assigned to. This includes filling in for open positions, set up of all equipment, housekeeping, 6s, and training new team members.
Job SummaryThis position requires a working knowledge of all manufacturing processes, including but not limited to receiving, material handling, steer king, metal prep, molding, welding, finishing, and shipping. The Manufacturing Support Specialist will provide a positive work environment for all team members. This person will fill in for absenteeism as need and help alleviate any bottlenecks. The Manufacturing Support Specialist is expected to drive a forklift, actively participate in continuous improvement activities, reduce scrap and rework, and be continually focused on quality and safety.
Dutiesand Responsibilities (Essential)
- Responsible for set up and operation of all manufacturing equipment.
- Will fill in for absent team members and may be shifted to multiple position daily.
- Will answer call lights and provide relief when needed.
- Participate in meetings as needed.
- Practice good housekeeping by following 6s principles keeping equipment and area clean and organized.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Identify causes of scrap and elevate to the Team Leader.
- Follow all plant and job specific safety instructions.
- Alert Team Leader of potential failures or unsafe condition of equipment.
- Job duties as assigned based on business conditions.
The Manufacturing Support Specialist will interact with management, supervisors, customer service, scheduling and all other ATRO team members.
RequirementsExperience and
Educational Requirements:
Must have a High School Diploma/GED, do basic math & counting, obtain a forklift license, be proficient at setting up equipment, read and follow work instructions, work orders and first piece inspection process. Proficient with Sage and Excel. Preference may be given to candidates with an Associate’s Degree or one who is actively pursuing one in a business related discipline.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work standing for 10 hours, must be able to react positively and quickly to changing situations.
