Position: Production Shift Supervisor (2nd Shift)

The shift supervisor position supervises and coordinates activities of workers on a particular shift (2pm-10pm while working with management to increase efficiency in all production areas. We welcome you to consider being part of this great team.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the overall production quantity, efficiency and quality of work produced on the shift.
  • Attend training sessions, meetings, and management collaborations and implement those items in production.
  • Identify and help implement process improvements and increase production.
  • Assist with motivating employees to achieve departmental and production goals.
  • Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
  • Track absenteeism and timekeeping.
  • Identify employees’ skills and develop them by coaching and counseling employees on a regular basis.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and provide continual feedback on both positive and negative performance.
  • Maintain continuity among departments by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuous needs.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with all policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Perform accident investigations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic issues with press and inspection equipment and/or operators struggling to run.
  • Report equipment breakdowns to the department manager and Maintenance personnel, following through until resolved.
  • Maintain strict attention to detail.
  • Work independently, make decisions, and carry out assignments to completion.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
Requirements

Job Requirements
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2-year degree is preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience, working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to help troubleshoot equipment and provide feedback to the department manager and Maintenance personnel.
  • Must take initiative, be resourceful, and willing to accept responsibility and accountability.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to facilitate and manage lean practices.
  • Must have the ability to successfully mitigate and resolve team member conflict.
  • Must have the ability to be discreet with company confidential information. Must have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with all team members.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Must be able to work overtime, as needed.
