Company & LocationQPS Employment Group is hiring a Process Tech for a company in Lee's Summit, MO. This is a direct hire opportunity.
Process Tech Responsibilities- Set up and start up injection molding machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment
- Develop and optimize processing parameters to achieve quality and productivity goals
- Troubleshoot molding defects (flash, short shots, burn marks, etc.) and make process adjustments
- Assist with mold changes and machine setups
- Work closely with maintenance and quality teams to resolve equipment and process issues
- Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards
- Adhere to a strict code of conduct that includes personal behavior that exemplifies professionalism
- Share knowledge with trainees in his/her department
- Become familiar with Quality Assurance processes and work closely with the QA team to ensure a quality product that meets standard
- Perform mold shutdowns, mold startups, tip heater replacement, nozzle tip replacement, thermocouple replacement, split molds, and may assist with mold changes
- Shut down and / or restart any mold and machine combination
- Apply logical problem-solving principles to the manufacture of injection-molded products and perform work that is consistent with the economics of the business
- Logically troubleshoot basic molding problems
- Effectively communicate processing and / or mold / machine issues, both verbally and in writing
- Understand and perform basic electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical repairs
- Read basic hydraulic and electrical schematics and mold drawings
- Work independently, make diagnostic evaluations, problem-solve processing issues, and produce moldings consistent with all quality standards
- Participate in all aspects of "Good Manufacturing Practice"
- Other duties as directed by Supervisor
- Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to operate support machinery
- Demonstrate experience with thin wall injection molding
- Familiarity with railcar pumps, Novatec system, Maguire blenders, and parts-handling equipment, is a plus
- SQF certification experience is a plus
- Work history that includes both satisfactory attendance and performance
- Must successfully complete a mechanical aptitude assessment and demonstrate mechanical aptitude
- May require a written and/or performance skills assessment
- Pass a drug screen and a POET (Post Offer Essential Functions) test for demonstration of ability to perform the essential job functions of the position in a safe manner
- Must display an exemplary level of cooperation and teamwork as this position requires supporting all departments within the organization, as well as coordinating and communicating with outside vendors and contractors
- Manufacturing environment may include noise exposure and standing for extended periods of time
