Position Summary

The Tank Farm Operator is a member of the Operations Team reporting directly to the Superintendent of Operations and Operations Supervisors/Shift Leaders. The Tank Farm Operator is accountable and responsible for the movement of oils between tanks, inbound and outbound loads and oil blends to meet established quality and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transfer crude and refined, bleached, and deodorized (RBD) oils between storage tanks.
  • Load and unload oils to and from tanker trucks, railcars, and flexi containers.
  • Monitor valve settings and piping configurations to prevent cross-contamination during oil transfers.
  • Operate and monitor oil movements using the SCADA system and manual valves.
  • Pull representative product samples from tanks, railcars, tanker trucks, and flexi containers for Quality Control (QC) testing.
  • Follow Tank Farm Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure safe and accurate processing.
  • Complete formula blends according to approved Quality Assurance (QA) SOPs and production requirements.
  • Blend oils to specified Oleic values according to established procedures and instructions.
  • Move ISO containers and shipping containers using a yard hostler truck.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to food safety guidelines.
  • Properly use and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report all accidents, incidents, and near misses to the Superintendent of Operations and Plant Manager.
  • Participate in audits and maintain audit-ready work areas.
  • Follow all company safety policies, attend required safety meetings and tailgate discussions, and complete assigned work safely.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
