Job Overview

Legacy Industries is hiring 12 Shipyard Welders to join our Field Operations team in a fast-paced, marine construction environment. This role is perfect for individuals skilled in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Flux-Core Arc Welding (FCAW), with the ability to perform welds in flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions. Welders at Legacy play a critical role in shipbuilding and repairs across tugboats, push boats, and barges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform SMAW (Stick Welding) and FCAW (Wire Welding) in multiple positions (flat, vertical, horizontal, overhead)
  • Join metal parts according to project blueprints and welding symbols
  • Operate safely in varied conditions including high places, confined spaces, and outdoor environments
  • Maintain awareness of safety hazards and uphold all shipyard safety procedures
  • Ensure weld quality meets project and industry standards
  • Follow job orders, blueprints, and supervisor instructions
  • Support overall production timelines during day or night shifts based on project demands
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1+ year experience as a shipyard welder
  • Must understand basic ship terminology and vessel construction principles
  • Proven ability to weld in multiple positions
  • Must pass a drug test and physical
  • No specific education or certifications required; skill will be tested onsite
