Wesco also provides advanced waterjet cutting for a wide range of materials, welding services (MIG/TIG/Stick), and custom fabricating from client or in-house drawings.

Additional capabilities include forming with a 300-ton 14' press brake and precision surface grinding, enabling Wesco to turn customer ideas into reliable, competitively priced results.

Role Description

The Machinist role is a full-time, on-site position based at Wesco Machine Works in Weldon Spring, MO. The Machinist will set up and operate manual and CNC milling and turning equipment to produce precision parts according to blueprints, drawings, and work orders. Daily tasks include interpreting technical specifications, selecting appropriate tooling and fixtures, monitoring machine operations, and performing in-process inspections to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality.

The role also involves basic machine maintenance, working with other team members on custom fabrication and repair projects, and following all safety procedures and shop standards to maintain a clean, efficient work environment.

Qualifications
  • Strong skills in manual and CNC machining, including milling and turning operations, with the ability to set up and run production and custom jobs.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications, including use of measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Experience with metal fabrication processes such as welding, forming, and surface grinding, or willingness to learn and collaborate with fabrication teams.
  • Knowledge of shop safety practices, machine maintenance basics, and safe handling of materials and tools in a manufacturing environment.
  • Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to identify and correct machining issues to maintain quality standards.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team-oriented shop environment.
  • Prior experience as a machinist in a job shop, manufacturing, or repair setting is preferred.
  • Relevant technical training, apprenticeship, or vocational education in machining or manufacturing technology is beneficial.
