Corporate Communications Manager
Position Overview: The Corporate Communications Manager will be a member of Autodesk’s Corporate Communications team, reporting to the Director of Corporate Communications and Analyst Relations. This role develops and executes communications that advance Autodesk’s corporate reputation across external and internal channels, with a focus on earned media, high-profile announcements, executive communications, and the stories that show how our customers design and make the world around us.
The role leads announcements, builds relationships with reporters and new‑media voices shaping Autodesk’s perception, and develops communications strategies that help leaders across the company show up credibly in the moments that matter. A key focus area is Autodesk for Small Business, a multi‑year program to earn trust with small businesses, entrepreneurs, and creators. Beyond that focus area, the manager is deployed across the corporate communications portfolio wherever the need is greatest.
Responsibilities- Lead and support end‑to‑end execution of announcements, owning the communications plan, drafting all materials, managing stakeholder review, and driving each moment from brief to publish.
- Support announcement roadmaps and editorial calendars, and proactively flag gaps, conflicts, and opportunities to sequence news for maximum impact.
- Shape and execute earned media strategies across traditional and non‑traditional channels; build relationships with business, technology, and trade reporters, Substack writers, creator journalists, podcasters, and community voices.
- Develop proactive story angles tied to news cycles, data, and trends, and understand how discovery is shifting toward social platforms and AI‑generated answers.
- Serve as a core communications team member for Autodesk’s small business program; support the announcement drumbeat, executive thought leadership, customer storytelling pipeline, and Autodesk News content cadence for this audience.
- Develop communications strategies that help leaders across Autodesk show up effectively, including messaging frameworks, talking points, briefing materials, presentation narratives, and thought leadership content for media, events, podcasts, videos and social channels.
- Write and edit across formats and audiences: press materials, Autodesk News stories, customer spotlights, and internal communications; translate complex product and business initiatives into clear, human, audience‑specific narratives, and develop repeatable formats that compound in value over time.
- Bring a working understanding of how social platforms, creators, influencers, and online communities shape brand perception; partner with social, community, and brand teams to extend stories into the channels where audiences live and identify cultural moments where Autodesk has a credible point of view.
- Track the impact of communications programs and deliver reporting that synthesizes what is working and what needs to change; contribute to team operations and manage agency and vendor partners as needed.
- 4-10 years of experience in public relations, corporate communications and/or media relations at a global company, organization, or agency.
- Proficiency with key AI tools for communicators and an AI‑native way of working that treats these tools as core to the craft.
- Hands‑on media relations experience: building press relationships, pitching and landing stories, and managing announcements from planning through coverage.
- Exceptional writing skills across formats, from press materials and long‑form stories to executive messaging and internal communications.
- Demonstrated fluency in new and non‑traditional media, including creator journalism, newsletters, podcasts, social platforms, and online communities, and a point of view on how these channels are changing communications.
- Experience developing executive communications, including messaging, talking points, and thought leadership content.
- Track record of leading announcements or communications programs end to end, managing multiple stakeholders and delivering high‑quality work under tight deadlines.
- A generalist…
