Associate Director – Geo Marketing

• Develop and lead the firm’s overarching strategy for events, client hospitality and sponsor ships tailored to specific market needs
• Partner with market leaders and business development teams on programs that drive client engagement and measurable cross-selling opportunities
• Oversee strategy, planning and execution of firm-hosted, market-based events
• Evaluate and manage sponsorship opportunities to maximize brand visibility and return on investment
• Lead hospitality strategy for priority clients and marquee firm moments
• Establish criteria, standardized processes and governance structures for event and sponsorship investments
• Measure and report activation effectiveness, pipeline impact, relationship depth and brand sentiment
• Orchestrate post-event follow-up to convert attendee engagement into business opportunities
• Manage relationships with external vendors, luxury venues and creative agencies
• Lead and deploy a market-based team and develop best practices and self-service tools
• Lead strategy and execution for internal events, including partner summits and leadership retreats
• Supervise and mentor direct reports
• Manage staffing coverage, time logs, time-off requests and policy compliance
• Support professional development and continuing education
• Participate in hiring, performance appraisals, counseling, termination and other employee lifecycle events
• Perform other duties as assigned or required

• After orientation at Cooley LLP, proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications
• Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required
• Ability to travel, as required
• 8+ years of applicable experience in marketing or business development, preferably with emphasis in strategy, transformation, or growth
• 4+ years of management experience
• Professional services industry experience and/or B2B marketing experience
• Experience working with local business organizations for brand and relationship opportunities
• Experience with Ticket Manager and CRM
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Prior legal industry experience preferred
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to organize, prioritize and coordinate multiple activities under tight timelines
• Strong judgment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding firm information, projects and client data
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence and develop talent
• Effective presentation skills
