Social Media Manager

Our client is a creativity and education company that helps people discover and develop their own artistic practice. Based in Sausalito, California, its offerings include a flagship membership program built on community and connection, along with destination workshops and online programs. The company is led by a practicing fine artist and founder, whose own creative process shapes its teaching philosophy and brand voice.

About the Role

The Social Media Manager will own strategy, run the posting calendar, lead community engagement, and report on performance across Instagram, Facebook, You Tube, and Tik Tok, with Instagram carrying the most weight. Partnering closely with the paid media team, this person will turn organic growth into a specialty in its own right. This is a hybrid role based in or near Sausalito, CA, reporting directly to the founder.

Social media fluency matters far more than an arts background, and there is real room to grow into Google Ads management and a larger share of paid strategy as the role proves out.

Key Responsibilities

• Own social media strategy and execution for major product launches, applying lessons from past launches to sharpen the next one.
• Build and maintain a consistent posting schedule across Instagram, Facebook, You Tube, and Tik Tok, with Instagram as the primary channel.
• Manage content organization and scheduling systems, catching and resolving publishing issues before they reach the audience.
• Own weekly performance reporting, pulling and analyzing data across all channels and translating it into clear recommendations for leadership.
• Track social media trends and platform changes, flagging shifts relevant to the company's strategy.
• Repurpose existing video and recorded content into Stories and other social formats.
• Write captions using AI tools, matched to brand voice and the intent of each piece of content.
• Lead day-to-day community engagement, monitoring and responding to comments across organic and paid posts, and flagging sensitive items to leadership.
• Own visual and copy contributions to paid ad campaigns, developed in partnership with the paid media team.

Qualifications

• 3 years of social media experience with demonstrable results.
• Based in or near Sausalito, CA, with availability for a hybrid schedule combining in-studio collaboration.
• Experience managing a multi-platform posting schedule, with focus on Instagram.
• Proficiency with AI tools for caption writing and productivity.
• Strong working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, You Tube, and Tik Tok, including platform-specific best practices.
• Comfort reading and interpreting performance metrics and translating findings into clear recommendations.
• A track record of owning social media strategy and execution end to end, not solely a content-scheduling function.
• Google Ads experience is a plus.
• Prior experience at a startup, small business, or agency is an asset.
• Experience with launch-based or course-creation companies is an asset.
