Reporting to the Director of Integrated Marketing within SJSU’s central University Marketing and Communications (UMC), the Web Content Migration Specialist is dedicated to the one-year sjsu.edu website redesign project. The position will use web tools to audit content at scale and keep the project organized. They will analyze site data to justify content decisions and execute a comprehensive "Keep, Merge, Rewrite, Archive" (ROT) analysis across a 30k-page web ecosystem.
This role is also responsible for identifying consolidation opportunities. Alongside a Content Strategist, this position will prioritize content and migration work, track progress and ensure that the website overhaul project meets accelerated timelines.
- Migrate and manage a large-scale website content footprint (10,000+ pages).
- Work closely with the Director of Integrated Marketing and the Content Strategist to develop a content governance framework.
- Oversee web auditing tools to establish content migration recommendations and action plans, in partnership with the Content Strategist.
- Identify outdated, redundant or confusing content and prioritize recommendations for rewrite, removal, or reorganization.
- Identify how to organize content for external University audiences (prospective students, parents, alumni, donors, partners, etc.) and internal University audiences (faculty, staff, current students).
- Analyze data in tools such as GA4, GSC, Crazy Egg, SEM Rush, etc. (traffic, bounce rates, conversions) to justify content decisions.
- Create detailed and organized project and content migration spreadsheets, pivot tables, etc. to track all content migration work.
- Build timelines, track deliverables and give progress reports for content migration at regular intervals.
- Leverage project management tools, such as Asana, to track the website content overhaul progress.
- Work closely with the UMC web team to implement web content changes and migration needs and submit project requests as needed.
- Liaise with the agency of record to follow website redesign requirements and recommendations and attend ongoing meetings.
- Experience managing, auditing, or migrating large-scale website content portfolios (10,000+ pages).
- Strong project management, planning, and tracking skills, including experience with project management tools such as Asana.
- Working knowledge of marketing
