River Oaks Church is seeking a full-time experienced Family Pastor to assist the senior pastor in leading a Godly and devoted congregation. The Family Pastor needs to possess a heart to create disciples, a deep grounding in Biblical Truth, an ability to oversee and lead various programs, a passion for evangelism, and most importantly, the characteristics outlined in Titus 1: 6-9 and 1 Timothy 3: 1-7.
Located in one of the fastest growing areas in the nation, River Oaks Church sits at the western edge of St. Charles County in Foristell, Missouri, on over 5 acres. River Oaks Church is an elder led church and offers the congregation contemporary worship over two services each Sunday, active small groups, strong women’s and men’s ministries, a fantastic children’s program, and a devoted group of youth.
In addition to the land we own, the River Oaks Church facilities include two buildings – the main building with a sanctuary, kitchen, large foyer, and classrooms; and the discipleship building, which houses offices, two classrooms, and our youth area. The facility also includes a large covered patio, outdoor basketball courts, an outdoor playground, and a great deal of ground for future expansion.
The Family Pastor position is one of shared oversight of the facility and its varied uses for outreach and fellowship.
- Oversight and leadership of youth and children’s ministries;
- Oversight and leadership of family ministries, including guidance concerning Connection Groups.
- Working in concert with the Senior Pastor in all areas of ministry;
- Shared oversight and coordination of all church activities and ministries;
- Providing stand-alone and sermon series as needed and according to a schedule;
- Providing pastoral counseling and care for the congregation;
- Assisting in the oversight and use of the River Oaks Church facility;
- His own personal growth as a leader, as well as his willingness to assume responsibilities in the church for areas of need;
- Living as a testament to Christ-like principles as an example to the church.
- Above all, have a deep knowledge of the Bible, and be adept at teaching it during Sunday sermons and in small group settings;
- Communicate effectively with multiple groups and in varied settings;
- Be courageous in speech and action, boldly proclaiming God’s word and Biblical truths;
- Have a heart for the lost;
- Support mission work, both locally and throughout the world;
- Create Disciples for Christ;
- Possess a great deal of self-motivation, confidence, and the ability to lead;
- Integrate personal vision and beliefs into the existing core beliefs and vision of the church;
- Be a scholar, continuing to study God’s word in order to strengthen the church;
- Be open and prepared for ministry and career advancement within the church.
