About CMFCAAThe Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption Association is a not-for-profit agency that educates, supports, and advocates for foster, adoptive, & kinship children, youth, & families in central Missouri by offering services & partnering with community & governmental agencies to develop healthy & self-sufficient individuals & families.

Founded in 2007 by a former foster youth, foster parents, and adoptive parents, the CMFCAA is a community service organization that provides for the needs of foster, adoptive, kinship, and guardianship youth and families. What began as a small support group has grown into a multifaceted organization that provides direct support, education, services and advocacy to foster and adoptive families in a 24-county central Missouri region.

Currently, we are assisting over 640 foster families, over 1400 foster children, over 400 adopted children in our service area. Our goal is to be a support to the families, children and youth in this area, and we work tirelessly to provide much needed services to them.

Position Summary The Grant Manager is responsible for researching and identifying funding opportunities, preparing competitive grant applications, and managing the entire grant process from prospect identification through closeout reporting. Working collaboratively across multiple departments, including Programs, Finance, and Quality Assurance, this position compiles necessary data and documentation, drafts and submits applications, and maintains grant files and records. The Grant Manager will pursue both public and private funding opportunities, including state, federal, and foundation-level grants and RFPs.

Additionally, this role will facilitate regular check-ins with project leads to ensure compliance, and participate in funder events to maintain and strengthen relationships. A successful candidate for this position is highly organized, deadline-driven, and excels at self-directed research and writing.

Essential Functions/Job Expectations Researches grant types, sources, and criteria and determines suitability for the organization’s needs

Discusses available sources of funding with organizational leaders and makes recommendations based on research findings

Compiles necessary information for the grant application process through cross-departmental collaboration, utilization of internal and external data, and additional research as needed

Drafts, submits, and tracks grant applications pursuant to funder requirements while ensuring clarity, accuracy, and comprehensiveness of provided materials

Ensures grants are submitted within Final date to receive applicationss, allowing time and opportunity for feedback and adjustments when needed

Facilitates timely completion of all grant-related requirements, including drafting and submitting reports, expense monitoring, funder recognition, and other actions as needed

Track and record all granted-related communications and activities, including application and reporting status, receipt of awarded funds, fund expenditures, and upcoming deadlines

Ensure grant objectives are met and outcomes are measured through regular cross-departmental communication, monitoring, and evaluation

Participate in grant panels, RFP bid opportunities, funder events, and other related activities

Strengthen funder relationships through communication, engagement, and participation in external events and groups

Maintain detailed records in accordance with organization’s historical grant tracking and management

Utilize and maintain organizational access to funder portals and historical data of funder relationships

Qualifications/Credentials Bachelor’s degree required. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferredA minimum of 3 years progressive experience in federal grant management, fiscal monitoring and compliance for grants totaling over $2,000,000 annually
