About the Role

Junior Achievement of Greater St. Louis is looking for an enthusiastic and organized Part‑Time Special Events Coordinator to join our passionate team in Chesterfield, MO. In this exciting role, you'll help bring impactful fundraising and events to life that directly support youth education and workforce readiness programs. Managing logistics, coordinating vendors and volunteers, maintaining budgets, communications, and fostering positive relationships are just part of the position.

Essential Functions
  • Planning and coordinating special events, such as peer‑to‑peer fundraisers, trivia, and golf events, and attending these events.
  • Acquiring financial sponsor ships from companies and partners while recruiting individual participation.
  • Cultivating relationships and obtaining funding from current and potential donors.
  • Managing event logistics: communicating between company coordinators and event venue staff regarding event details.
  • Budgeting: developing event budgets, monitoring expenses, and ensuring events meet revenue goals while staying within financial boundaries.
  • Working with board committees to help increase participation.
  • Managing and maintaining the fundraising platform.
  • Communications and promotion: drafting and implementing marketing plans and materials, managing event communications.
  • Post‑event evaluation: assessing the success of events, communicating outcomes, and providing recommendations for future improvement.
  • Relationship building: stewarding relationships with donors, participants, sponsors, and community partners to enhance engagement and support for the organization.
  • Responsible for coordination of Community Impact Advisory Board recruitment process, special events as well as meeting preparation and participation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in planning and coordinating special events, especially within nonprofit or fundraising environments.
  • Strong organizational skills, adaptability, problem‑solving abilities and fearless determination to tackle challenges creatively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey the mission and impact of Junior Achievement to donors and partners.
  • Good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners, positive outlook!
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders, work independently, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • An understanding of donor management software and database management to track donor information, contributions, and engagement.
  • Physical ability to lift and transport 50 lb. boxes to events.
