General Responsibilities

The Director of Multi-Cultural Ministries provides national leadership to expand CEF® USA Ministries into underserved, urban, and culturally diverse communities. The role ensures children in these contexts are evangelized and discipled through culturally appropriate, relational, and contextually relevant ministry methods that remain faithful to the Gospel and CEF’s ministry philosophy.

This role realizes the importance of the CEF Culture Points and commits to upholding them personally and in the ministry of CEF (the importance of Godly leadership at every level, of the spiritual welfare of our workers, of prayer as our foundation, of evangelizing children, of a clear and Biblical presentation of the Gospel and of a commitment to excellence, for the glory of God).

Specific

Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
  • Establish prayer as the foundation of all that is done in this ministry, according to the CEF Culture Point.
  • Develop and implement a unified national strategy for multicultural and urban outreach.
  • Identify priority cities, regions, and population groups with high ministry opportunities.
  • Align multicultural initiatives with broader USA Ministries goals and priorities.
2. Ministry Development
  • Expand and adapt CEF ministries (Good News Club®, 5-Day Club®, etc.) for urban environments and diverse cultural and language groups.
  • Ensure ministry approaches are culturally relevant, relationally driven, and workable in urban settings (schools, community centers, apartments, outreach spaces).
  • Maintain Gospel clarity and doctrinal consistency across all contexts.
3. Leadership Development
  • Identify and develop Multi-Cultural leaders from inner-city, ethnic, and culturally diverse communities in collaboration with State Directors.
  • Build pathways for local leadership and long-term ministry sustainability.
  • Mentor leaders who understand cultural dynamics and urban ministry challenges.
  • Support state and local CEF leaders in establishing Multi-Cultural Ministry Directors.
4. Collaboration & Field Partnership
  • Partner with state and local directors to strengthen multicultural and urban outreach.
  • Build relationships with urban churches, community organizations, and ministries serving underserved populations.
  • Support local chapters in launching and sustaining ministries in harder-to-reach communities.
5. Training & Equipping
  • Equip staff and volunteers in cross-cultural evangelism, urban ministry dynamics, and relational trust-building.
  • Provide training addressing cultural sensitivity, poverty-related barriers, and ministry adaptability without compromising the message.
6. Growth, Access & Sustainability
  • Increase access to Gospel-centered ministry for children in inner cities, immigrant communities, and underserved populations.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of outreach models in multicultural and urban settings.
  • Scale sustainable ministry models that produce long-term impact.
Qualifications
  • Deep passion for reaching children in underserved and diverse communities.
  • Strong understanding of urban ministry realities and cross-cultural dynamics.
  • Strategic leadership with national-level implementation ability.
  • Skill in recruiting, developing, and sustaining diverse leadership pipelines.
  • High relational intelligence, adaptability, and cultural awareness.
  • Commitment to CEF doctrine, purpose, and ministry philosophy.
Preferred Qualifications
  • College degree
  • Experience in multicultural settings
  • Fluency in language other than English
  • CEF Training
  • CEF Experience
