Department Summary

The Philanthropy department is responsible for fundraising to support the Center’s programs and services not covered by government grants. It raises nearly $20 million annually through individual gifts, private foundation grants, corporate donations, estate and legacy gifts, and fundraising events such as the annual Gala.

Job Summary

The Senior Partnerships Manager develops and executes a strategic partnership program focused on corporate and institutional fundraising to support the Center’s mission. This role collaborates with leadership and program teams to identify and cultivate partners, securing long-term restricted and unrestricted financial support. The position manages the full grants process, cultivates existing partnerships, and identifies new funding opportunities, operating as an individual contributor without supervisory or budget authority.

Essential

Functions
  • Fundraising
    • Develop tailored partnership proposals, grants, narratives, and presentations aligned with funder priorities and the Center’s mission.
    • Coordinate efforts to secure grants and sponsor ships from corporations and institutions.
    • Collaborate with the Grant Strategy team to refine proposals ensuring metrics-driven outcomes and clear impact.
    • Identify and assess new corporate and institutional funding opportunities in partnership with the Director.
    • Build a pipeline of new institutional funding opportunities through research, prospecting, and engagement strategies.
    • Identify opportunities to increase funders’ giving through multi-faceted partnerships including engagements, sponsor ships, cause-marketing, employee engagement, and programmatic funding.
Partner Stewardship and Reporting
  • Oversee and execute funder deliverables including progress reports, event participation, and engagement activities.
  • Ensure timely acknowledgment of funder contributions through marketing, branding, and communications in collaboration with Corporate Partnerships Officers.
  • Monitor and enhance funder satisfaction to steward partnerships for long-term growth.
  • Coordinate in-person and virtual engagements with corporate and institutional funders.
Department Administration
  • Maintain accurate records of corporate and institutional interactions including grant deadlines, deliverables, and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with Finance to finalize partnership financial projections each fiscal year.
  • Represent the Center and educate corporate and institutional entities about the Center at events, meetings, and conferences.
  • Communicate opportunities, updates, success stories, concerns, and impact to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative support to the Corporate and Institutional Partnerships team including organizing documents, scheduling, drafting reports, prospecting, research, invoicing, mailings, and daily communications.
  • Participate in Center events, volunteer engagements, and site visits as needed.
Non-Essential Functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in corporate and institutional fundraising, grants management, or related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially intermediate to advanced Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity with CRM databases and aptitude for learning new software.
  • Strong understanding of corporate philanthropy, institutional funding, and LGBTQ-focused initiatives.
  • Proven grant writing skills securing six- and seven-figure gifts.
  • Financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Salesforce.
