Program Lead
Location:
Burcham Youth Center – Holts Summit, MO
Reports To:
Unit Director
Classification:
Part-Time
Hours:
Monday – Friday, 1-6 PM
Pay Rate: $16-$18 per hour
Key Responsibilities Leadership- Provides guidance and development for part-time staff; assists in preparing newly hired staff to work with program participants, helps frontline staff members understand their roles, and contributes to a positive work culture.
- Assists with food service, kitchen staff, and the CACFP & SFSP food programs at the unit/site.
- Coordinates evidence‑based programs that align with the Boys & Girls Clubs goals and objectives to strengthen academic success in members.
- Assists with paperwork and reports including attendance, program reports, and the remind app.
- Ensures implementation of organizational policies, procedures, and goals while maintaining a safe, positive environment necessary for youth development.
- Communicates with a strength‑based approach to develop positive relationships with all youth.
- Respects and honors cultural and human diversity.
- Identifies potential risk and protective factors for youth.
- Demonstrates the qualities of a positive role model.
- Helps develop STEM and other curricula, and organizes binders for teams.
- Assists with YDP trainings.
- Attends Spillet, DESE, and other leadership trainings.
- Maintains close, daily contact with Club professional staff to interpret and explain organizational mission, program objectives, and standards, discuss issues, and provide/receive information. Communicates with members as needed to discipline, advise, and counsel.
- Assists in the development and program implementation of grant‑funded programs.
- Must work the listed hours and be responsible for closing program/building.
- Fills in where needed at any site.
Education & Experience
- 1-3 years’ experience in youth guidance and development programs preferred.
- CPR and first aid certified or willing to become certified.
- Proven management skills; ability to supervise club staff and volunteers.
- Knowledge of and access to community organizations and assistance agencies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability and desire to work with youth in a variety of environments.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently without direct supervision.
- Passes background screening and drug test.
