Consultant - Major Gifts & Sponsorships

First Star is seekinga part-time, project-based fundraising consultant
to provide temporary support for two focused 2026 fundraising priorities:
Celebration sponsor ships and year-end major-donor re-engagement.

We're looking for an experienced fundraiser with a strong track record in
major gifts, corporate sponsor ships, donor cultivation, and relationship building
. Los Angeles/Southern California relationships are a plus.

September 2026-January 2027

Help us continue creating strong futures for young people impacted by foster care.

The consultant is expected to operate with a high degree of independence and initiative. First Star will provide reasonable access to donor records, historical giving information, sponsorship materials, organizational impact data, and staff/Board members necessary to complete the work.

The consultant should be prepared to recommend strategy while also
executing the day-to-day outreach, follow-up, coordination, and moves management necessary to advance prospects toward a gift
.

This is a temporary engagement running from September 2026 through January 15, 2027. The consultant will provide focused support for two established fundraising initiatives:
First Star's 2026 Celebration and year-end major-donor re-engagement.

The consultant will participate in weekly virtual check-ins with First Star leadership to review progress, priorities, upcoming solicitations, and any barriers requiring attention.
