Development Coordinator - WLADC

Position Summary
Our mission at the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Southern California (RMHCSC) is to provide comfort, care, and support to children and families in Southern California. To achieve our vision of creating a community where children and their families embrace life and healing with a sense of hope, enthusiasm, and joy, RMHCSC operates six Ronald McDonald Houses and two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, along with Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times.
The Development Coordinator provides administrative, fundraising, event, marketing, communications, and financial support to the Ronald McDonald House Westside Los Angeles (WLA) development team. This position works closely with the Director of Development and Executive Director to support donor stewardship, gift processing, events, campaigns, communications, and the day-to-day operations of the development department.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Development Administration & Gift Records

• Support gift processing and gift records by depositing checks, preparing backup documentation, and assisting with batching and reconciliation in RE/NXT
• Send donor acknowledgements in a timely manner.
• Run weekly reports to audit gifts and acknowledgements.
• Reconcile Foundation online gifts and donor-advised fund (DAF) donations.
• Review monthly bank statements to verify and reconcile WLA deposits.
• Audit Raiser’s Edge/NXT donations against the pledge agreement tracker to ensure accuracy.
• Participate in portfolio review meetings, gift list review meetings, and other development meetings as requested by the Director of Development.
• Maintain accurate and organized development records and documentation.
• Assist with the planning, organization, and execution of special events, including golf tournaments, annual galas, mixers, Walk for Kids, Meals of Love, and third-party fundraising events.
• Contact and coordinate with vendors and event partners.
• Solicit and track auction items and other event-related contributions.
• Assist with event attendees, sponsors, donors, and partners.
• Provide on-site support during events as needed; may involve evenings and weekends.
• Track sponsor ships, tickets, payments, and other event-related information.
• Coordinate the annual Walk for Kids event for the WLA House.

Marketing & Communications

• Work with the Director of Development and Executive Director to create e-newsletters, email communications, and other donor communications.
• Schedule email and postcard communications and track engagement metrics, including open rates.
• Create digital campaign collateral for fundraising and awareness campaigns, including Mother’s Day, Giving Tuesday, Year-End/Season of Giving, and other initiatives.
• Create and maintain organizational collateral, including tour folders, notecards, brochures, flyers, pamphlets, letterhead, and other printed materials.
• Create Canva projects in collaboration with the Director of Development for proposals, events, campaigns, named space options, and other development initiatives.
• Update newsletters and Board books for distribution.
• Ensure consistent messaging, visual identity, and branding across all communications and platforms.
• Serve as a brand steward by upholding Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California (RMHCSC) standards and maintaining consistency across projects and materials.

Website & Digital Content

• Update and maintain the website with fresh content, news, events, and success stories.
• Ensure website content is accurate, timely, engaging, and consistent with RMHCSC branding and messaging.
