Intake Behavioral Health Coordinator – RN

Location:

7980 Clayton Rd
Full-Time | Night Shift | In-Person

• Complete behavioral health intake assessments
• Coordinate patient placement and care plans
• Document evaluations and support crisis intervention
• Evaluates severity of illness for all elective, direct and urgent admissions to determine appropriate level of patient care
• Reviews physician orders for clinical appropriateness/completeness and proper admission status
• Coordinates education and development of internal staff and external departments to ensure understanding of intake review and approval process
• Conducts complex clinical review for inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary services requests for medical necessity
• Applies the existing body of evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in health care to nursing practice, ensuring that nursing care is delivered based on patient’s age-specific needs and clinical needs as described in the department's Scope of Service
• Demonstrates professional nursing standards defined in the professional practice model and uses the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safety
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Active RN license
• Behavioral health or acute care experience preferred
• Strong assessment and communication skills

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing

• No experience required

• Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive movements
• Frequent vision/hearing for monitoring, alarms, and communication
• Frequent keyboard use/data entry
• Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting and gripping
• Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs
• Rare climbing
