Overview
Intake Behavioral Health Coordinator – RN
Location:
7980 Clayton Rd
Full-Time | Night Shift | In-Person
- Complete behavioral health intake assessments
- Coordinate patient placement and care plans
- Document evaluations and support crisis intervention
- Evaluates severity of illness for all elective, direct and urgent admissions to determine appropriate level of patient care
- Reviews physician orders for clinical appropriateness/completeness and proper admission status
- Coordinates education and development of internal staff and external departments to ensure understanding of intake review and approval process
- Conducts complex clinical review for inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary services requests for medical necessity
- Applies the existing body of evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in health care to nursing practice, ensuring that nursing care is delivered based on patient’s age-specific needs and clinical needs as described in the department's Scope of Service
- Demonstrates professional nursing standards defined in the professional practice model and uses the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safety
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Active RN license
- Behavioral health or acute care experience preferred
- Strong assessment and communication skills
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
- No experience required
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive movements
- Frequent vision/hearing for monitoring, alarms, and communication
- Frequent keyboard use/data entry
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting and gripping
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs
- Rare climbing
