Overview
SIGN ON BONUS OF UP TO $5,000 AVAILABLE. Piedmont Macon Medical Center is a 310-bed facility providing compassionate, patient-centered care across a wide range of specialties, including:

- Inpatient and same-day surgery, including innovative robotic surgical procedures

- Rehabilitation programs
- Behavioral health and substance abuse care
- An advanced cardiac center offering noninvasive heart procedures and open-heart surgery
- Cancer care and survivorship programs
- Robotic surgery procedures
- A birthing center for labor and delivery with access to a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
QualificationsEducation
- Graduate from a nursing program – Required
- Bachelors Degree – Preferred
- No experience required – New graduates of a nursing program eligible
- Required
- Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting – Preferred
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions – Required
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure. Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNCL Multistate License – Required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support – Required
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum) – Addendum
- Cardiac Tele – ACLS Certification required within 180 days
- Critical Care – ACLS Certification required within 180 days
- Dialysis – CDN (Certified Dialysis Certificate) – Preferred
- Emergency Department – ACLS and PALS Certification required within 180 days;
Experienced ED nurses have 6 months to obtain the PALS certification - Infusion/Oncology – Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification prior to independent chemotherapy administration upon hire – Required
- Pediatrics – Identifies, reports and provides appropriate protective measures for high risk situations including abuse or neglect, failure to thrive, and potential for abduction. PALS Certification required within 180 days at Piedmont Columbus Hospital; PEARS or PALS Certification required at Piedmont Athens Hospital – Required
- Surgical Services – Pre Op/PACU/ENDO/CSU ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients – Required within 180 days; OR BLS required within 180 days
- Women's Services – Labor and Delivery ACLS Certification required within 6 months; NRP by end of orientation; AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months;
Mother/Baby NRP by end of orientation; NICU NRP by end of orientation; NAT NRP by end of orientation;
Nursery NRP by end of orientation – Required within 180 days
