Certified Nurse Midwife, Inpatient, Newark, DE

Overview

Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to work full-time inpatient on the Newark Campus in a Day/Evening/Night schedule. The CNM will provide care to low-risk obstetrical patients, primarily on labor and delivery, with a supporting role in OBGYN Triage, and will collaborate with OB/GYN physicians and ancillary staff.

• Manage the care of low-risk obstetrical patients and fetuses with consultation/collaborative care as appropriate.
• Perform deliveries and assist physicians with deliveries; manage care of women during labor and delivery within established protocols, guidelines, and procedures.
• Provide obstetric and gynecologic care to adolescent and adult women within the scope of education, training, and credentialing.
• Collaborate with the OB/GYN team and participate in patient evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment as applicable to CNM practice.

• Graduate of an approved nursing program and active state licensure as a Registered Nurse; CNM program completion and board certification as a CNM.
• National certification by ANCC or American College of Certified Nurse Midwives; state licensure as a CNM (DE and/or MD as required).
• Minimum of two years of experience as a CNM; prescriptive authority, DEA registration, and BLS required.
