Solid Tumor Cell Therapy (Melanoma) Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Responsibilities include caring for patients both pre‑ and post‑transplant in inpatient and outpatient settings, managing chemotherapy regimens prior to transplant, and providing comprehensive oncology nursing care.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and treat patients with acute or chronic complaints and health maintenance concerns related to specialty care.
- Obtain complete histories and perform pertinent physical exams for new and returning patients.
- Perform or order and evaluate diagnostic studies as indicated.
- Administer medications according to formulary protocols or upon patient‑specific approval from the supervising physician, ensuring controlled substances are ordered with prior physician approval.
- Order and collect specimens for routine laboratory tests, screening procedures, and therapeutic procedures, including blood and blood products.
- Order physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology examinations and nursing services.
- Perform designated procedures after demonstrating competency in accordance with written standardized procedures.
- Obtain informed consent as indicated.
- Initiate arrangements for hospital admission and discharge, completing appropriate paperwork.
- Enroll patients in investigational studies approved by the Institutional Review Board and order necessary tests and medications.
- Assist the supervising physician in the operating room after appropriate training.
- Act as first or second assistant under the supervision of an approved supervisory physician.
- Perform surgical procedures in the personal presence of the supervising physician.
- Recognize and consider age‑specific needs of patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds.
- Recognize situations requiring immediate physician attention and initiate life‑saving procedures when necessary.
- Facilitate the coordination of inpatient and outpatient care and services as needed.
- Facilitate collaboration between providers and coordination of community resources.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and clinical policies and procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide and coordinate patient teaching and counseling.
- Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college or university.
- Physician Assistants hired prior to July 1, 2012 are exempt from the bachelor's degree requirement if they graduated from an accredited PA program.
- Physician Assistant State Licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration

Base Pay Scale:
Generally starting at $89.01 – $117.94 per hour, adjusted based on factors such as internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
