Full-time Description
Full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position located in Osage Beach, MO.
$7,500 SIGN ON BONUS FOR FULL TIME NEW HIRE
As an LPN, you will provide basic medical attention to patients and assess their wellbeing as part of a larger medical team. The role requires patience, compassion, and a desire to care for the elderly in a gentle and empathetic manner.

- Coordinate the nursing care of residents on the unit, ensuring all residents are assigned a nurse aide capable of providing care to the resident.
- Use independent judgment and discretion on behalf of the organization in the performance of these duties.
- Provide safe and accurate medication-related interventions to residents.
- Administer and document medications and treatments according to each resident’s medication schedule and current standards of medication pass technique.
- Know the rationale for the effect of medications and treatments and correctly administer same.
- Provide treatments per the physician order, including wound care, urinary catheterization, oxygen care, tracheostomy care, etc.
- Order and receive medications from the pharmacy.
- Conduct accurate accounting of all narcotics, signing for count and exchange of keys to medication carts and medication room.
- Promptly respond to resident requests for pain intervention and document such in the resident record.
- Accurately transcribe and coordinate the implementation of physician orders.
- Perform nursing assessments regarding the health status of residents.
- Notify the physician of changes in status and promptly implement and document new orders.
- Prepare work assignment sheets, taking into consideration resident safety, educational preparation, experience, knowledge, and ability of the persons to whom the assignments are made.
- Report staff shortages to nursing management.
- Participate and communicate employee actions that may result in reward or discipline.
- Must hold a current state license to practice as an LPN. Current CPR certification and additional certification in nursing specialty desired.
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic nursing practice with an interest in gerontological nursing.
- Prefer 2 years’ experience in a long-term care setting.
- Basic computer skills and experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred.
