Registered Nurse (Contract)

Location:

Lafayette, IN. This role involves triaging patients and providing direct patient care in collaboration with other RNs and medical professionals.

Schedule:

Flexible with options for 3–12, 4–10, or 5–8 shifts.

Duration: 7/13 to 8/21, with potential extension or direct placement.

Pay: $38–$52 per hour, DOE.

• Use nursing skills to evaluate patient care needs, prioritize treatment, and maintain patient flow.
• Conduct nursing assessments, taking patient history, performing physical assessments, obtaining vital signs and other medical tests.
• Provide treatment within scope of practice as defined by state law.
• Collaborate with physicians or other licensed independent practitioners to arrange further medical treatment when needed.
• Identify equipment requiring repair and notify the lead clinician.
• Perform occupational and health screening tests as defined in the site contract (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision).
• Conduct appropriate laboratory tests and quality control procedures.
• Document accurately all elements of nursing assessment, treatments, medications administered, discharge instructions, and follow-up care arranged.
• Evaluate health education and promotion needs of patients and provide necessary training and instruction.
• Identify emergency situations and provide care within legal scope of practice.
• Administer medications and medical treatments competently as directed by a physician or licensed independent practitioner.
• Maintain medical records using the electronic medical record system as applicable.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment and follow infection control procedures.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Participate in follow-up phone calls and patient visits.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Current RN license.
• ASN or BSN.
• BLS certification upon hire.
• Occupational health experience desirable but not required.
• Strong customer service skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow occupational health policies.
