Under the direction of the Correctional Administrator (Associate Warden), the Captain is the first level of supervision responsible for maintaining order and discipline in accordance with established procedures throughout the facility, including housing units, dining halls, work areas, and exercise yards.

Working ConditionsHigh Desert State Prison is located approximately eight miles east of the town of Susanville, about a 1 hour 30‑minute drive northwest of Reno, Nevada.
