Are you an experienced Registered Nurse who thrives in leadership and enjoys creating a high-quality care environment? Our client is seeking a compassionate and hospitality-minded RN Unit Supervisor to oversee nursing care and daily clinical operations during assigned shifts. This is an excellent opportunity for an RN who is confident in both hands‑on resident care and team leadership. The ideal candidate will champion person‑centered care, support nursing staff and CNAs, and partner effectively with families, physicians, and the broader interdisciplinary team.
Skilled nursing experience and familiarity with California nursing regulations are essential for this role.
- Oversee nursing care and clinical services during assigned shifts
- Supervise nursing staff and direct‑care team members, including CNA assignment and shift coverage
- Administer medications, treatments, and direct resident care as needed; support residents with ADLs
- Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Lead daily clinical huddles and round throughout each shift to ensure residents receive safe, clean, and comfortable care
- Review and assist with clinical documentation
- Communicate resident condition changes to physicians and families promptly
- Participate in care planning, IDT meetings, and care conferences
- Assist with pharmacy recommendations, medication room responsibilities, and medication dispensing systems
- Provide floor nurse coverage during staffing shortages
- Monitor staffing efficiency and support reduction of unnecessary overtime
- Support regulatory survey readiness and ongoing compliance efforts
- Give and receive comprehensive shift reports
- Assist the Director of Nursing with delegated tasks as needed
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program
- Active, unrestricted California RN license (required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (required)
- Wound Care certification preferred, or willingness to obtain
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a long‑term care or senior living setting preferred
- Skilled nursing facility (SNF) experience is required at some point in the candidate’s career
- Charge nurse or supervisory experience preferred
- Experience working within California healthcare regulations is required; candidates must be familiar with CA‑specific nursing laws
- Strong clinical judgment with demonstrated leadership capability
- Excellent communication, organizational, and clinical documentation abilities
- Proficiency with medication dispensing systems
