What to expect as a Professional Practice Specialist:
  • Responsible for overseeing education, clinical competency, professional practice standards, and direct clinical support within the hospital.
  • Promote excellence in patient care through staff development, evidence-based practice, regulatory readiness, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Maintain an active clinical presence and may provide direct bedside nursing care as needed to support staffing and operational needs.
  • Serve as a resource, mentor, educator and clinical leader for nursing staff across all departments while supporting organizational quality and patient safety initiatives.
Requirements
  • Current Missouri RN license.
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS CPR certification required.
  • AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS Instructor certification (or within 9 months of hire)
  • Completion of DHSS Approved Clinical Supervisor Course (or within 6 months of hire)
  • Master's degree in nursing education preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of supervisory and nursing experience
