Introduction
The In Home program assists adults in maintaining themselves in their own homes despite a decrease in ability. Provides one-on-one patient interaction in a home setting. Payment is through Medicaid, VA, Long term care insurance and Private Pay.
Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Missouri is a non-profit organization. The program also includes Private Duty nursing one day a week. Private Duty nursing is a one-on-one care in the home typically serving pediatric clients who have specialized healthcare needs and require long-term skilled medical care.
Type of Work InvolvedIn-home nursing provides weekly medication setup, diabetic and anticoagulant nail care, general health assessments, check vital signs and supervision of staff performing advanced tasks in the home.
TrainingTraining involves a 30 day period where policies and procedures are covered. Computer training will cover the use of the handheld device used to make patient visits.
Qualifications- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Have at least one year of nursing experience; one year in hospice or home health setting preferred, and a Missouri nursing license
- Must have reliable transportation and proof of automobile insurance
- Must pass pre‑employment drug screening, criminal background check, and be registered with Family Care Reg
- Must not be listed on Employee Disqualification List (EDL)
- Must complete an application in full and furnish at least two credible business references with correct addresses and telephone numbers
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 35
