Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation

Location:

San Quentin State Prison, Marin County, CA

Salary: $4,078.00 – $4,500.00 per month (minimum salary for new to state candidates will be minimum of classification).

Under the supervision of the Supervising Registered Nurse (SRN) II/III and the clinical guidance of the Registered Nurse (RN), the LVN provides basic and technical level general nursing care to patients in a variety of correctional health care settings.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering timely and appropriate health care to patients, based on the LVN scope of practice, in collaboration with the health care team.
• Providing technical patient care under valid authorization by a provider’s order and the delegation and clinical direction of the RN.
• Supporting the care team for daily health care operations and communicating effectively with patients and other members of the health care team.
• Addressing ongoing needs of patients, working with physicians and other health care providers, and promoting efficient, appropriate, and cost‑effective use of health care resources.

• Possession of a valid, active license from the State of California to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
• Valid, CA BVNPT Licensed Vocational Nurse License.

• Background Investigation clearance.
• Medical Clearance.
• TB testing required for new to CCHCS prior to appointment and annually thereafter.
