Emergency Department Clinical Nurse

Role Overview

Provides direct patient care in an emergency department setting, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation according to nursing standards. Promotes patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, medications, and post-treatment needs. Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and communicate individualized care plans, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Utilizes critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient preferences, values, and cultural considerations.

Maintains a safety-sensitive role, requiring alertness and safe work practices.

• Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree in Nursing; RN license required
• Minimum one year of ED nursing experience preferred; no experience required for entry
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with critical thinking skills
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient education abilities

• Assess and evaluate patient needs, develop care plans, and document interventions
• Educate patients and families on care management and post-discharge instructions
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members
