Job Title: PRN Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Location: John Knox Village East, Higginsville, MO
Department: Nursing
Employment Type: PRN (As Needed)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team on a PRN basis in a long-term care environment. The LPN will provide high-quality nursing care to residents under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or physician, ensuring residents’ health, comfort, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with resident care plans and physician orders
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Monitor residents’ conditions, including vital signs, and report changes promptly
- Assist in developing, updating, and implementing individualized care plans
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs)
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulations
- Respond to resident needs, concerns, and emergencies in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with infection control, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Missouri, in good standing
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or geriatrics preferred
- Strong clinical, organizational, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to lead and work collaboratively with a care team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Dependable, flexible, and able to adapt to changing resident needs
- PRN (as-needed) position with flexible scheduling
- Must be willing to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
- Ability to assist residents with mobility and transfers (up to 50 lbs or more with assistance)
