Overview

This Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide direct patient care—including IV therapy—within the framework of the Licensed Practical Nurse Act under the direction of a registered nurse. The role includes directing and assisting ancillary nursing staff, interacting with multidisciplinary teams, and delivering the highest quality personalized patient care.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care (including IV therapy) under RN direction.
- Direct and assist ancillary nursing staff with assigned duties.
- Interact with multidisciplinary team and other personnel.
- Demonstrate professional responsibilities and manage own practice.
- Assist other members of the healthcare team in delivering high‑quality personalized patient care.
- Effectively use the nursing process to gather data, plan, and evaluate patient care.
- Provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to patient age.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, guests, family members, and co‑workers to ensure a quality patient experience.
- Adapt positively to rapid change and varying unit or department needs.
- Manage personal professional development and maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Education Required – High school diploma or equivalent.
- Work Experience Required – None.
- Certifications Required – Current licensed practical nursing (LPN) license in state of practice;
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association. - Preferred – IV therapy credentials.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – Excellent organizational and time‑management skills; self‑directed with good judgement; strong interpersonal and delegation skills; ability to work with and maintain confidential information; ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
May involve lifting weights ranging from 10 to 100 pounds, standing or walking for a significant degree, and potential exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous medications or waste. The physical demands are in excess of sedentary work and may require frequent or occasional lifting of heavy objects.
