The Missouri Veterans Home needs an Assistant Director of Nursing to assist in the planning and direction of its nursing program. • Assist with Director of Nursing Services (DNS) with management of the nursing department, including staffing, direction, monitoring and evaluation of the total nursing care program
• Work with Unit Managers to ensure key factor data is within acceptable parameters and the data is valid
• Coordinate with the medical director, attending physician, and DNS to ensure compliance with standard policies, procedures, agency, and Veterans Administration guidelines
• Identify and report significant occurrences to the Administrator/Assistant Administrator and DNS according to established policy
• Coordinate with Staff Development Coordinator and DNS to ensure adequate training for nursing staff, and provide hands‑on resident assessment and staff education
• Document accurately and timely Veteran care in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Assist DNS with preparation and maintenance of nursing reports and records
• Work evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Missouri – in good standing
• 2+ years of experience as a registered nurse
