Join our highly engaged team of Registered Nurses in the 72 Bed, Definitive Observation Unit (DOU) located within the Prebys Cardiovascular Institute. Our DOU specializes in Cardiac Care (Intervention, Pre/Post Open Heart Surgery and LVADs).

Our DOU is a fast-paced unit with high turnover in patient population. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, engaged, resilient and someone that thrives in a challenging and ever-evolving work environment.

The Registered Nurse is responsible forprovidingdirect patient care within the scope of his/her practice.

• - Provide direct care to patients with acute cardiac diagnoses / conditions
• - Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and interpret telemetry, EKGs
• - Administer cardiac medications, titrate drips within systemwide and clinical protocols
• - Support recovery of pre and post pen heart surgery, pre and post interventional and LVAD patients
• - Respond to changes in patient status
• - Educate Patient / families of plan of care

Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. The RN takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision. Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.
