Registered Nurse Medical Surgical

Job Summary:

Seeking a Med Surg RN to provide high-quality patient care in a busy medical-surgical unit. This role involves managing a diverse patient population with a focus on monitoring and supporting post-operative and acute care patients.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and clinical protocols.
• Monitor patient vital signs, including pacemaker function and potassium levels, to ensure stability.
• Document patient care, responses, and interventions accurately using Meditech electronic charting.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and update patient care plans.
• Float to other Med Surg units within scope of practice as needed.
• Maintain compliance with certification requirements including BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with at least 2 years of Med Surg experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Strong clinical skills in patient monitoring, medication administration, and documentation.
• Ability to work 36-hour shifts (3-12 hour shifts), including some weekends.
• Experience with telemetry and basic telemetry skills preferred but not required.
• Ability to adapt to unit needs and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.
