We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to join our multidisciplinary behavioral health team.

This position is ideal for a clinician who is comfortable managing a caseload of clinically complex adult patients with co-occurring psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related disorders, personality disorders, substance use disorders, and eating disorders.

Our patients may be transitioning between levels of care, including PHP/IOP step-downs, post-hospitalization follow-up, and ongoing outpatient treatment
. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with diagnostic complexity, clinical uncertainty, elevated-risk presentations, and patients who may not have responded adequately to standard treatment approaches.

You will work collaboratively with therapists, counselors, case managers, program leadership, and psychiatrists to provide comprehensive, evidence-based psychiatric care.

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including psychiatric history, mental status examinations, diagnostic formulation, and risk assessments.
• Provide ongoing psychiatric medication management for adult patients with complex and co-occurring mental health conditions.
• Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans based on each patient's clinical presentation, treatment history, goals, and level of care.
• Diagnose and treat conditions including depression, anxiety, trauma-related disorders, bipolar disorders, personality disorders, substance use disorders, eating disorders, and other behavioral health conditions.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of suicide risk, self-harm, behavioral concerns, and other safety risks.
• Develop and update safety plans when clinically indicated.
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists for consultation and case review involving complex or high-acuity patients.
• Coordinate care with therapists, PHP/IOP directors, counselors, case managers, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Provide medication education to patients and families, including risks, benefits, potential side effects, adherence, and alternatives.
• Monitor medication effectiveness, adverse effects, and clinical progress.
• Provide telehealth psychiatric services when appropriate and clinically indicated.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and clinically precise documentation within the organization's EMR/EHR.
• Clearly document diagnostic reasoning, clinical formulation, treatment recommendations, and risk assessments.
• Participate in treatment planning, discharge planning, utilization review, and continuity-of-care activities.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, California healthcare regulations, DEA requirements, and applicable professional standards.
• Maintain appropriate communication with members of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Participate in quality improvement and clinical initiatives designed to improve patient outcomes and behavioral healthcare practices.

• Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
• 5+ years of experience providing psychiatric care to adults preferred
• Current DEA registration
• Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and psychiatric medication management
• Demonstrated experience with psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to independently manage a psychiatric caseload
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain accurate, timely, and clinically appropriate documentation
