Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner

BJC Health Care seeks a PRN Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner to provide expert, trauma-informed forensic care to sexual assault patients in St. Louis. In this on-call role, you will conduct comprehensive exams, collect and preserve forensic evidence, ensure precise documentation, and collaborate with law enforcement and advocacy partners. You will educate and support patients through crisis, follow-up, and community resources. • Provide comprehensive sexual assault forensic exams for patients of all ages
• Collect, preserve, and document forensic evidence following chain-of-custody standards
• Deliver trauma-informed, patient-centered medical care and crisis support
• Photograph and document injuries accurately in medical and legal records
• Collaborate with law enforcement, advocacy agencies, and social services
• Educate patients on treatment options, follow-up care, and available resources
• Participate in on-call PRN rotation to respond to cases as needed
• Maintain competency through ongoing SANE and forensic nursing education
• Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings when required
• Adhere to BJC Health Care policies and regulatory requirements
