- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other activities of daily living.
- Assist with meals and hydration, following individualized care plans and dietary instructions.
- Safely assist with transfers, ambulation, and repositioning using appropriate equipment.
- Obtain and document vital signs, intake and output, and other assigned observations.
- Promptly report changes in residents’ condition or behavior to the supervising nurse.
- Respond to call lights and resident requests in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of care provided.
- Follow infection prevention procedures and maintain a clean, safe environment.
- Protect resident privacy and rights and promptly report safety concerns or suspected abuse.
- Collaborate with the nursing team and provide clear handoff communication.
- Current CNA certification with active status on the Louisiana Nurse Aide Registry.
- Current BLS/CPR certification, as required by the facility.
- Skilled nursing or long-term care experience preferred.
- Completion of required credentialing, background screening, and health requirements before starting.
- Strong communication skills, dependable attendance, and a resident-centered approach.
- Ability to perform essential job duties, including standing, bending, repositioning, and assisting with transfers, with or without reasonable accommodation.
