Summary This position is located at Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area, Linn Creek, MO, in connection to Ft Leonard Wood.

This job is open to U.S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S. The agency clarifies United States (U.S.) Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.

• Works under general supervision and is provided work assignments, direction, policies, guidelines, quality of work expected, deadlines, and priorities.
• Assists in setting-up, maintenance, and takedown of all special planned programs/events. Sets up and maintains recreation equipment such as water sprinklers, picnic tables, barbecue grills, park benches, playground equipment, trash containers, etc.
• Maintains park picnic and pavilion recreational areas. Performs grass-cutting requirements using riding lawn mowers/garden tractors (from 18HP to 31HP), push mowers, edgers, chainsaws, blowers, weed eaters, pruners, etc.
• Work is reviewed for efficiency, compliance with instructions, procedures, and safety rules, and end results. Enforces safety, hygiene and health standards, policies, and regulations.
• Weeds flowerbeds, prunes shrubs and trees, clear scrub trees and brush, and waters grass, trees, and plants. Cleans public latrines, party pavilions, and other facilities. Scrubs sinks, floors, and other fixtures. Picks up trash around the grounds.

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2, to include a medical examination and Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
• Incumbent must be willing and able to work varying shifts to include days, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Incumbent must be willing and able to complete a physical.
• Must successfully complete a post Defensive Driving course and maintain a current valid driver's license.

• Have work experience directly related to the duties to be performed.
• Be able to understand oral English and read and understand written instructions in English to assure safe and satisfactory performance (reading chemical labels, operating instructions, assignments, etc.).
• Have experience driving lawn tractors, and using tools and equipment normally found in maintaining grounds, facilities, and equipment.
• Have the ability to perform a variety of laborer, custodial, gardening, driving, and park maintenance duties with minimal supervision.
• Know how to spread fertilizer evenly to prevent underfeeding or burning of plants.
• Have experience in operating the vehicles/equipment listed, performing operator's maintenance, and complying with safety and traffic rules and regulations.
