DRG currently has opportunities for field biologists on our Natural Resource Management team. This opportunity is primarily centered around assessments and monitoring related to utilities. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable training and experience with many species that occur in the Mojave desert.

Must be in excellent physical condition and able to work outdoors with long days.

• Adaptable to all types of workflow
• Flexible with workload
• Work ahead of crews to monitor for species presence
• Must be willing to work Monday - Friday, with occasional Saturday
• Communicate with the crew and project manager if wildlife species are found and stop or reroute work plan to ensure wildlife is protected
• Collect and enter data on handheld devices, follow maps and use GPS navigation
• Assess all terrain, habitat, and environmental conditions
• Coordinate with project managers, planners, and vegetation crews
• Willingness to travel throughout California

• Ability to get along well with peers and supervisors in a field setting
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science or related field
• Previous field experience preferred, however, applicable academic experience would be considered
